Will we survive?

Last weekend we played our normal game like every other week. There were 7 of us in total. Pak Eric, Serge, Annick, Frasier, Anthony, myself and Charlie. The last 7 hardcore golfers in the whole of Gamba. I played with Pak Eric and as always we laughed from the first hole to the last.

It's amazing that with an excellent 18 hole course, we only have 7 golfers. Soon Frasier will leave and probably Pak Eric will also start his long awaited retirement. That will leave us with 5 !!! Maybe when Nisa returns we can have 6. If Jacie or Terry decided to play then we'll have 7. If we can convince Sanjeev to re-start his professional career we may just get 8.

8 hardcore golfers ..... sad !! Next year our turn to leave will come. Very likely Charlie and Sanjeev will also end their stay in Gabon. I sincerely hope new keen golfers will appear in Gamba. We need them desperately. Otherwise the survival of Gamba Golf Club will not be good.

For others it's the elephants and the wildlife and the jungles. For us it's the golf course. Gamba is not the same without it. We love playing golf and we are very lucky to be here enjoying an excellent course so close to our house. To all never say die golfers in Gamba ...... we love you.
